Son of James Henry Green and Matilda Green of Red Houses, Ship Lane, Bramford (now Red House Cottages). The family was originally from Flowton.
In 1939 Clifford was a farm labourer.
He is commemorated in the Singapore Memorial.

2nd Battalion, Cambridgeshire Regiment Singapore 1942
The battalion, commanded by Lieutenant-Colonel Gordon Thorne, was sent to Singapore in early 1942 and reinforced the 15th Indian Brigade Batu Pahat. The brigade held the town for ten days against attack by the Imperial Japanese Army; some 500 troops from the battalion fought their way back to Singapore and were attacked on all sides at Braddell Road in Singapore before being also ordered to surrender.
Some 24 officers and 760 other ranks were killed or died in Japanese captivity during the Second World War.

While visiting Mrs Jane Cantwell ( nee Hayes) formally of Bramford Suffolk England paid her respects to the late Clifford G Green identifying his name on the Column 59 of the name panels of the main Kranji War Memorial Singapore.
