The research is being carried out by one of the members of the group and considerable progress is being made in obtaining details of the men’s families, where they worked and their military careers.

All the normally available records have been obtained from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, the “Soldiers Died in the Great War database”, census and parish records. Searches are currently being carried out through local newspaper archives for reports relating to individual soldiers.

Some descendants and other relatives have been in contact and provided very useful family information and photographs but the Group would still like more information, particularly details or copies of photos, letters, documents or stories relating to these men’s lives.

If you think you have anything that might be of interest please use the contact details here and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
